mcfee park splashpad

The McFee Park Splashpad is now closed for the season. We'll see you next year!

The expanded McFee Park splashpad opened in June 2016, making it the largest public splashpad in the greater Knoxville area! The splashpad has a nature theme and includes unique spray elements such as flowers, animals, geysers, misters and a water journey labyrinth area with creeks, flood plains and cascades perfect for toddlers.

If the splashpad is not working properly or other problems arise, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 865-218-3376 or during evenings/weekends at 865-924-6833 or 865-679-1021In the event of an emergency, call 911; the splashpad address is 917 McFee Road, Farragut, Tenn.

Operating hours

The splashpad is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. The splashpad may close daily from 2 to 3 p.m. for scheduled maintenance. Please understand that when you rent a pavilion at McFee Park, you are not renting the splashpad, and we cannot guarantee the splashpad will be running.

Parking

There is very limited parking available beside the splashpad. We ask that all splashpad visitors park in the lower parking lot at the entrance of McFee Park and use the crosswalk to access the greenway up to the splash pad. Please do not park along the roadway or in the grass. Illegally parked cars will be subject to towing. Please come to the park expecting to take a short walk to the splashpad.

Splashpad 411
  • Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen as there is limited shade available at the splashpad.

  • It’s a good idea to wear water shoes or have flips flops nearby. While the water features keep the play area cool, the surrounding sidewalk and surfaces of the playground are very hot on uncovered little feet.

Splashpad rules
  • Most importantly, have fun and make it a splash!

  • The splashpad is a no smoking area.

  • Summer camps and daycares need to reserve a pavilion so that there is adequate space for other splashpad users. (See info below about organized group reservations.)

  • The splashpad is not supervised. Play at your own risk. Adult supervision is recommended.

  • Water in the splashpad is chlorinated and recirculates through a filtration system. For your safety, please do not drink the water.

  • Do not climb, hang, swing or pull on any of the splashpad equipment.

  • Proper swim attire is required.

  • Swim diapers are required.

  • Do not change diapers on or near the splashpad.

  • No skateboards, bicycles, athletic equipment, rollerblades, balls or swimming pool toys are allowed in the splashpad area.

  • No glass.

  • Dogs/pets are not allowed in the splashpad or playground areas, except for service animals.

  • The splashpad may be closed at any time due to weather, maintenance or other operational concerns.

Childcare business reservations
  • Childcare businesses must make a pavilion reservation in advance of their visit by calling the Parks & Recreation Department at 865-218-3376. This pavilion should serve as the holding area for towels, backpacks, lunches and more for the childcare business. The pavilion can also be used by the group for games, crafts and picnics. Please note that there is very little open/green space surrounding the playground, splashpad and pavilions.

  • Reservations may be made on Mondays and Wednesdays only. Use can only be between 9 a.m. (for playground; splashpad opens at 10 a.m.) and 2 p.m. If a pavilion is not available, the childcare business cannot visit that day. The playground and splashpad will be over allowed capacity if both pavilions are rented.

    • Cost of the large pavilion is $95 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

    • Cost of the small pavilion is $85 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

  • Please note that a pavilion rental does not guarantee that the splashpad will be operating. While the Town staff makes every effort to keep the splashpad in good condition, occasionally there are mechanical issues with the splashpad that force a closure for a period of time. The playground will remain open even if the splashpad is closed.

  • Parking – Parking of buses, vans and cars for the childcare business must be in the lower parking lot. There is a crosswalk at the entrance of McFee Park that will take the group safely from the lower parking lot to the greenway that leads up to the splashpad/playground area.

  • Restrooms – All restrooms at McFee Park are open to the public and access cannot be blocked. While restrooms may be used by childcare businesses, they cannot be used as dressing rooms to change in to or out of swimwear – this should be done at the business, camp, etc. before and after the field trip to McFee Park.

  • For questions regarding this policy, please direct emails to Blake Travis at btravis@townoffarragut.org.
