Hide and Seek with the Admiral
In an effort to combine social distancing, physical activity and fun, the Farragut Parks and Recreation staff has developed Hide and Seek with the Admiral, an activity that expands over our four parks: Founders Park at Campbell Station, Mayor Bob Leonard Park, Anchor Park and McFee Park.
Participants are invited to download maps that show Admiral Farragut’s hiding spots in each park and then travel to the parks to find the exact locations. A tag has been placed at each hiding spot with a number on it. Maps include space to record tag numbers, or participants can record tag numbers on a plain sheet of paper.
The hunt begins Feb. 1 and continues through March, allowing plenty of time for individuals to seek out the Admiral’s 20 favorite hiding spots! The locations are marked by red, numbered dots on the map.
Those who find the most hiding spots could receive one of 10 $10 gift certificates to Dairy Queen. When finished, participants should drop their list of tag numbers at the Farragut Community Center 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Lists can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline is noon on Wednesday, March 31. Please include your name and contact info on your tag number list.
Gift certificate winners will be determined by the number of hiding spots found. Should there be a more than 10 winners, 10 will be randomly drawn. Social distancing is encouraged when participating in the hunt. Farragut Parks & Rec staff encourages the use of hand sanitizer, should individuals touch any of the tags at the hiding places.
